LEILA LOPES – ROAD TO MISS UNVERSE 2011

Let’s have a look at the road to Miss Universe 2011 of Leila Lopes. Leila (full name: Leila Luliana da Costa Vieira Lopes) was born on February 26, 1986 to Cape Verdean immigrants in Benguela, Angola.
Lopes, who stands 1.79 m, is a business management student in Great Britain, where she was crowned Miss Angola UK on October 8, 2010, the official representative of the Angolan community in the United Kingdom to the 2011 Miss Angola pageant.
At the Miss Angola 2011 held in Luanda on December 18, 2010, Lopes obtained the Photogenic Award and became the eventual winner of the title, gaining the right to represent Angola in Miss Universe 2011.She was crowned winner of 2011 Miss Universe in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011, becoming the first Angolan Miss Universe. Lopes received the title from the former Miss Universe titleholder, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico.
